The history of Steel Lavorazioni Meccaniche
has deep roots. It is the result of over 50 years
of experience in mechanical subcontracting.

OF OUR SUCCESS
1974
In 1974, a group of friends and colleagues, including Ezio Bortolin, the current president of Steel Lavorazioni Meccaniche, founded CO-STA S.r.l., a company specializing in the design and production of molds.
Complementary to CO-STA S.r.l., a few years later, SATT S.r.l. was established, a company dedicated to plastic molding.
1981
In 1981, a visit to a Swedish steel mill inspired an ambitious project that soon became a reality: the establishment of a commercial company for the distribution of Uddeholm steels, the global leader in mold and industrial tool steels.
This led to the foundation of what is now Steel S.p.A. Over the years, the original idea expanded to include additional services such as metallurgical analysis, consulting through its own laboratory, and pre-processing of distributed materials.
1988
In 1988, Steel Lavorazioni Meccaniche S.r.l. and Steel Trattamenti Termici S.r.l. were founded, specializing in precision machining and heat treatments for steel. These specializations completed the full supply chain of mechanical subcontracting.
2009
In 2009, the company’s offering expanded with the foundation of WRS Italia S.r.l., leveraging its accumulated technical expertise to begin producing industrial shredders for recycling and repurposing production waste.

produces medium to large mechanical
components up to 6 meters through
high-precision machining.
The company is headquartered in Motta di Livenza, Treviso, a key district in Italy’s mechanical industry alongside Venice. We boast extensive expertise in manufacturing steel plates for PET preform molds.
A 12,000 m² production facility houses an advanced machine park with 26 machining centers, ensuring high specialization across multiple machining processes.
With decades of experience, in-depth know-how, and cutting-edge technology, we offer a comprehensive service, from material selection to technical support and manufacturing. Our reliability and expertise are reinforced by long-standing collaborations with local and international partners, ensuring a complete service for our customers.
